What's the difference between the App and the Playbook?
The App is the running system, receipt scanner, ledger, pipeline, all live, $19/mo or $24/mo Managed. The Playbook is a one-time $67 download with the AI prompts and document filing, no subscription, no automation. The Playbook teaches the workflows; the App runs them for you.
Do I need to know anything about AI?
No. The Managed plan handles the AI engine for you for $5/month on top of the $19. You photograph receipts and use the app. The "AI" runs in the background and you never touch it.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account or by email. No contracts, no termination fees. Your data stays in your browser whether you're a paying customer or not.
Why is bilingual important?
Because trades workforces in the US are bilingual and the software they're handed isn't. Building EN/ES as first-class from day one is the whole point, not a future-quarter roadmap item.
Is my data private?
Your day-to-day data, documents, receipt photos, ledger entries, lives in your own browser. We store two things on our servers: (1) the small bits needed to run your subscription (your email, plan, Stripe customer ID, scan counts), and (2) for Managed plan subscribers, a structured backup of your documents, receipts, and profile so you can recover if your device dies or your browser data is cleared. Receipt photos are never backed up, they stay on your device. We never sell your data, never use it to train AI, and never share it with advertisers. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Will this replace my accountant?
No, and it shouldn't. The Grind Books is what you hand to your accountant at tax time, a clean per-job P&L, CSV export, every receipt categorized. Your accountant still does the taxes; you just stopped doing the data entry.
I run a different kind of solo business. Will this work for me?
Yes. Contractors and tradespeople are who we built the first prompts for, but the underlying tools, receipt scanner, per-job ledger, document filing, AI prompts that load with your business info, voice-on-every-input, work for any one-person business.
